Attention Roosevelt Seniors, Do you have talent in drawing, painting, or sketching? Would you like to help raise awareness around the issue of drunk driving or distracted driving? If you do, then you want to enter this poster contest opportunity! The Roosevelt Senior Class will be attending the None for Under 21 Event on Friday, April 28 th at Kent State University. You as a Roosevelt Senior are invite participate in a poster contest sponsored by the None for Under 21 Planning Committee. Your originally designed poster should present a theme that features a drunk driving, or a distracted driving awareness and prevention message. Students who choose to design and submit a poster should make sure that our school name is on the front (or the poster will be disqualified from the voting) Please submit your poster designs to Mrs. Jacquie Peoples Dukes in room 159 by 3:00 pm Monday, April 24 (posters will be picked up on April 25, so they can be voted on by the N4U21 Planning Committee). There will be 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place winners with a gift of money to go to your schools for prom/graduation!

The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team came back with another win last night against Highland. Goalie Maddie Samaco allowed only one goal in the first half, and goalies Maddie Samaco and Abby Gold played a shutout second half. Goals scored by Abbey Jones, Lily Schiller-Stacey, Amelia Snellenberger, Darcy Reed, Gwen Rogers, Jorja Crabtree, Bella Prichard and Susan Reer with assists by Allison Schall, Amelia Snellenberger, Bella Prichard, Corrin Wolfgang, and Lily Schiller-Stacey led the Riders to a 15-1 victory! Congratulations!

Girls Varsity Lacrosse was victorious over Green last night after an exciting come back. Down 4-6 at the half, our Riders rallied together and scored 6 goals for a final 10-8 win. Goals by freshmen Maddy Steffl, and Jorja Crabtree, Juniors Bella Prichard, Gwen Rogers, and Susan Reer and Senior Abbey Jones and Corrin Wolfgang with Maddie Samaco in the cage with 14 saves! Great job ladies and good luck tonight against Hoban!!

The Rough Rider Baseball Team traveled to Dayton over spring break and played three games to start the 2023 Season. Taking down Fairborn High School at Wright State University 13-7 in game one on Saturday Night. Game two the Riders beat Xenia 11-7 before knocking off host Springfield Shawnee in game three on Tuesday 9-3. Monday night the boys found victory once again 5-1 as we opened Roosevelt Park against the visiting Brush Arcs. After a tough 1-0 loss against Barberton last night, the team will take on Copley tonight at 5:00 at home. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to the Men's and Women's track & field athletes as they opened their season at Woodridge. Hannah Hido scored in the 1600 meters. Maryum Bonchu, Audrey Gregg, Lindsay Wills, and Mahlia Friedman all scored in the sprint relays. Alea Haines in the pole vault and relays. Ella Hassler in the 400 meters. Kaidyn Harris scored in the sprint relays and was meet champion in the Long Jump. Lea Parham scored in both hurdle events and was the meet champion in the High Jump. Great Job Ladies! For the men: Micah Sheller scored in both hurdle events. Jaiden Portis scored in the long jump. Jeremy Rieger 1st in the pole vault. Danny Hido was the meet champion in both the hurdle events. Great Job Men!
