The Roosevelt Environmental Club is BACK! Environmental Club is open to all RHS students who have an interest in our local environment and what we can do to improve it. Projects this year will include improving the courtyard and preparing for the annual Envirothon Competition. We meet on Thursdays after school in Room 213. Congratulations to the Girls Golf Team who shot a season low 318 to finish 2nd at the Suburban League Tournament on Saturday. Maren Seaholts shot a 73, Morgan Bauza 79 and Sydnie and Ashley Leavery both shot 83. The team is back in action tonight vs Kenston and Lake Catholic.

Homecoming is right around the corner! Voting for Homecoming Court starts this Wednesday during your lunch period at the concession stand. Voting is only Wednesday and Thursday, so make sure to vote as soon as the polls open!

The Cross Country team traveled to Revere last night to take on the Minutemen. Top finishers for the ladies included: Emma Arthur, Marissa Koach, and Jeanie Barzellato. The top finishers for the men included: Jack Starzyk, Ezra Turner, and Gideon Kaine. Outstanding job!

The Lady Rider Golf Team improved their record to 6 and 0 with a 166-184 victory over Stow at Fox Den Golf Course. Sydnie Leavery shot 38, Maren Seaholts 41, Morgan Bauza 43, Ashley Leavery 44 and Anna Picicco 50. Great job girls and good luck at the League Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 11.

This week is National Suicide Prevention Week. Did you know that one person commits suicide about every 45 seconds? That’s two people in the time it takes to brush your teeth. There will be a table set up in the cafeteria at lunch starting on Wednesday to help raise awareness to this critical issue that more people succumb to every day. Together, we all can help create a more positive culture here at Roosevelt and help each other get through these tough times together.
Congratulations to the Cross Country teams as they competed in the Ashley White Memorial Invitational at Marlington High School this past weekend. The Women finished 7th in the Division 1 race with top runners including: Emma Arthur, Marissa Koach, Evie Caldwell, Jeanie Barzellato, and Nina Loofboro. The Men finished 4th in the Division 1 race with top runners including: Ezra Turner, Jack Starzyk, Gideon Kaine, Jake Soyars, and Luke Jenkins. 95% of the team improved their times from last week.
