Congratulations to basketball seniors Ari Crockett and Lexie Canning for earning 1st Team all Suburban League and to sophomore Julia Nash for earning Honorable Mention. Come watch Lexie and Ari one more time as they play in the area All Star game on the 14th at Norton High School at 6:00!
Congratulations to three of our Teaching Professions students who qualified for states at our Educators Rising Conference. Kor Allen, Breanna Fishl and Gwen Rogers competed this week in Columbus at Capital University. Gwen Rogers placed 2nd in the State of Ohio for her lesson plan and delivery in a CTE classroom. Also participating at states were six of our future teachers, Claire Galossi, Emma Arthur, Lauren Frey, Alli Sabastiani, Emily Forsyth and Lexi Smith. These six students created an amazing escape room that was maxed out in attendance for two sessions. Congratulations to all of our Future Teachers!
Madrid, Barcelona and Seville! Senora Wilson and Senora Knight are leading a spring break 2024 trip to Spain. Informational meetings will be held on Wednesday, March 15th and Wednesday, April 5th at 6:00 p.m. in Room 216. See Senora Knight for more information.
Thinking about your future and the legacy you want to leave at Roosevelt? Current sophomores and juniors please apply to become a Freshman Connections Mentor, so you can teach the incoming freshmen all about high school life and the Roosevelt Way. You can make a difference! Applications are in your Google Classroom on a Google form and are due by Weds, March 22nd! If you were a mentor this year as a junior and would like to participate in it again next year, you must fill it out again.
Driver Ed is back! If you are a student who is 15 years and 5 months of age or older, you can attend the National Driver Training Schools Driver Education classes. They will run from April 24th through May 10th. Classes will be held from 2:45-7:00 pm in the CTE wing. For more information, please see Ms. Creamer in the Career Education Office in Room 171.
Accessories from the Pulsera project are beautiful, handmade and benefit Latin American artists and support programs. Stop by at lunch next week to buy your own from Interact Club.

Gloria Steinhem led the women’s liberation movements throughout the 60’s and 70’s and continues to do so today. In honor of Women’s History Month, RTA is doing a t-shirt sale to support safer futures. Head on down to the concession stand during your lunch period to pre-order!

Congratulations to senior Mary Kline who won the Rotary Club's speech contest yesterday. She will represent our school and the Kent Community at the regional contest in April. Way to go, Mary!
Happy National Women’s Day! RTA is having a t-shirt sale where all the proceeds are going to Safer Futures, the only domestic violence and resource center in Portage County. Come down to the concession stand to pre-order a t-shirt!

Tomorrow is International Women's Day. People around the world will celebrate the achievements of women and how far they have come in the fight for their rights. Show your support by wearing last year's t-shirt "as strong as the woman next to me" or the color pink. Then stop by the concession stand during lunch to check out RTA's awesome new t-shirt design. All proceeds from this sale will go to Safer Futures.

Spring into recycling! After this announcement, it’s time to bring your blue recycling bins down to the photography hall (152). There will be students to help guide the recycle collection! Teachers check your mail boxes for the brand new recycling posters listing what we can and can't recycle. As a reminder: we can recycle paper, plastic, glass, cardboard and metal. Please do not recycle food scraps, batteries and styrofoam. Let's keep Roosevelt green and bring those bins down now! Thank you again for helping the Environmental Club’s efforts to keep our school community green.
