Congratulations to three of our Teaching Professions students who qualified for states at our Educators Rising Conference. Kor Allen, Breanna Fishl and Gwen Rogers competed this week in Columbus at Capital University. Gwen Rogers placed 2nd in the State of Ohio for her lesson plan and delivery in a CTE classroom. Also participating at states were six of our future teachers, Claire Galossi, Emma Arthur, Lauren Frey, Alli Sabastiani, Emily Forsyth and Lexi Smith. These six students created an amazing escape room that was maxed out in attendance for two sessions. Congratulations to all of our Future Teachers!

Thinking about your future and the legacy you want to leave at Roosevelt? Current sophomores and juniors please apply to become a Freshman Connections Mentor, so you can teach the incoming freshmen all about high school life and the Roosevelt Way. You can make a difference! Applications are in your Google Classroom on a Google form and are due by Weds, March 22nd! If you were a mentor this year as a junior and would like to participate in it again next year, you must fill it out again.

Driver Ed is back! If you are a student who is 15 years and 5 months of age or older, you can attend the National Driver Training Schools Driver Education classes. They will run from April 24th through May 10th. Classes will be held from 2:45-7:00 pm in the CTE wing. For more information, please see Ms. Creamer in the Career Education Office in Room 171.

Spring into recycling! After this announcement, it’s time to bring your blue recycling bins down to the photography hall (152). There will be students to help guide the recycle collection! Teachers check your mail boxes for the brand new recycling posters listing what we can and can't recycle. As a reminder: we can recycle paper, plastic, glass, cardboard and metal. Please do not recycle food scraps, batteries and styrofoam. Let's keep Roosevelt green and bring those bins down now!
