TRHS Career Technical Education Logo

Welcome to Theodore Roosevelt High School!   You will be starting your career here!  Our goal at Theodore Roosevelt High School Career-Technical Education (CTE) is to equip students for high-skill, high-wage careers demanded in a competitive economy.   Upon completion, students should be prepared to transition to post-secondary education or enter their career field and, in most cases, have obtained college credit.  Our teachers have worked diligently to prepare for a school year that will be meaningful and worthwhile in your educational plan.  We hope that you, too, will come prepared to begin this school year with enthusiasm and effort to commit to your success.  Please make sure to join our Twitter or Instagram feed @KentSchoolsCTE for information, pictures of students, and news.   A good single source for information can be found at www.kentschools.net/cte  or call the CTE office at (330)676-8740.

In the coming days, you and your student will receive emailed information needed to complete the Opening of School Steps below, if you do not receive an email by August 10 please contact the Kent CTE office at 330 676-8740.

  •  Final Forms (Parent & Student): Parents/Guardians and students will need to set up a Final Forms account for Kent City schools. If you have a Final Forms account for your home school, you still need to create a Kent account. Please go to this address https://kentschools-oh.finalforms.com/ and select a new account. Complete the information as requested. The site will ask for your student’s Kent City School District email address (this email can not be changed). An email from Final Forms will be sent to your student’s Kent City School District Google email account with the information needed to complete the student portion of Kent’s Final Forms. As previously mentioned, an email will be sent from Kent Schools to you and your student that will contain the login information.
  • Gmail and G Suite (Student): Students need to activate their Kent City School District Gmail account. Directions: Once the student has received their email and password login information, they will go to Gmail (your student may need to log out of their home school account or select add another account). You will need to completely log out of all other Gmail accounts prior to setting up your new email. This process works best on a laptop or desktop computer, as opposed to a cell phone or iPad. Enter their Kent City School District email address and initial password.

Program Formats

Kent Theodore Roosevelt high school Career Technical Education programs begin on August 16 for Kent students.   The first official day of Career-Technical programs for Six District Educational Compact Career-Technical Education programs is August 21.  You are responsible to attend classes at your home school starting on their opening day.

Please email Janet Creamer, administrative assistant at jcreamer@kentschools.net or Brian Bachtel, director of Career-Technical Education at bbachtel@kentschools.net if you have any questions or contact the Theodore Roosevelt Career-Technical Education office at (330) 676-8740 for personal service.  Resources:  Kent City Schools Calendar 2023-24;  Important Phone Numbers and Information.

If you will be riding the bus to Kent TRHS for your Career-Technical Program, please check with your home school Guidance Department or Transportation Department. They will provide the location and time that the bus will be leaving your school to bring you to TRHS.  Students may drive to Theodore Roosevelt high school and will need to complete a Six District Transportation Request Form.  Parking at TRHS can be challenging, please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your start time.  Morning programs start at 7:30am. You need to arrive prior to 7:30 am to be on time and not tardy.

If you are in a program with a fee, an invoice will be sent home prior to the end of September from our Cashier’s office.  Fee payment plans are available for those who would prefer to make monthly or quarterly payments. Students that are eligible for free lunch must complete a Kent fee waiver form available in our cashier’s office to have their fees waived and use material on loan.  Please take care of this as soon as you receive the invoice from us.  If you have any questions regarding fees, please contact Kathleen D’Sidocky kdsidocky@kentschools.net or at 330-676-8709.

We highly recommend parents sign up for  Kent's ProgressBook.  Login information and directions are available by contacting Sharon Weiss at sweiss@kentschools.net or calling 330 676-8729.

If your student is ever absent, you will need to contact the Kent TRHS attendance office at (330) 676-8702 (Six District parents will also need to contact their home school).

If you have any questions or need further clarification, don't hesitate to contact Brian Bachtel, Director of Career Technical Education at bbachtel@kentschools.net or call the Kent Career Technical Education office at 330-676-8740.

We look forward to working with you!
