Congratulations to Lea Parham of the Women's Track & Field program for finishing Suburban League Champion and the Division 1 District Champion in the 100 hurdles. Lea competes in the Regional Track & Field meet at Austintown tonight in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Also competing at Austintown in the Regional Track & Field meet tonight and Friday are: Marissa Koach, Olivia Sams, Emma Arthur, Jeanie Barzallato, and Gianna Ferrara. A huge shout out to Danny Hido as he was the Suburban League Champion in the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles. His performances at the Championships and throughout the season earned Danny Track Athlete of the year honors. Outstanding job Track & Field athletes.

All Seniors and Juniors will attend The Senior Honors Assembly is on Thursday, May 26, 2022, (1st, 2nd, & 3rd periods) to celebrate the Class of 2022. We will be presenting our senior awards, scholarships, and the anticipated Senior Slideshow. SENIORS: The list of seniors being recognized will be posted on the Activities Office, Attendance Office and Counseling Office windows. It will be updated daily until the day of the assembly. Seniors being recognized should sit in the designated rows and should be seated by 7:45 a.m. in the auditorium. JUNIORS: Juniors should go to first period classes at 7:30 for attendance. They will then be called to the auditorium at approximately 7:40 a.m.

Congratulations to the Men's Track & Field team for finishing 6th at the League championships last week. Tahj Banks finished 3rd in the Shot Put. Micah Sheller finished 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles and finished 2nd in the 300 hurdles. And congratulations to Danny Hido who was the two time Suburban League Champion in the 110 and 300 hurdles! The Lady Riders Track & Field team finished 3rd overall at the League Championships last week as well. Yakia Lee Johnson finished 3rd in the Shot Put and second in the Discus. The team of Olivia Sams, Jeanie Barzellato, Emma Arthur, and Marissa Koach finished 2nd in the 4x800 meter relay. Ella Hassler finished 3rd in the open 400 meters. The team of Olivia Sams, Marissa Koach, Francesca Ferrara, and Ella Hassler closed the meet with a 3rd place finish in the 4.400 meter relay. And Congratulations to Lea Parham who was the Suburban League Champion in the 100 hurdles! Outstanding League finish.

On back to back nights, the Rough Riders knocked off Warren Harding 7-1 and then Cuyahoga Falls 4-2. Last night the Suburban League Baseball “Athlete of the Month” of April, Nate Stohovitch drove in 2 runs raising his team leading RBI total to 27. While Jared Dunfee threw a complete game 4-hitter for his second win of the season, earning him the coveted “CAC” Belt for player of the game. The boys will be back I action tomorrow night at Kent State University’s Schoonover Stadium for a 6:00 pm start vs Streetsboro. We will be honoring our 2022 Seniors: Karim Butler, Owen Cooper, Jared Dunfee, Nathan Fletcher, Nolan Lane, Zach Rogers and Nate Stohovitch. Please come out and support this fantastic group of young men and fill up the stadium on Senior Night!

Lady Rider's softball team beat Canton Mckinley 15-4 in the OHSAA tournament play. Great all around hitting by Maya Sheller, Shleby Ellsworth, Megan Moser, and Sydney Tuttle. Also great pitching effort by Sydney Tuttle. The girls move on to play Austin Town Fitch on Wednesday.

POPs, POPs ,POPs!!!! The annual POPs concert is back!! Our talented Roosevelt vocal and instrumental student-musicians will once again showcase pop, rock, R&B, jazz, and country hits on Friday, May 20 after a three year hiatus. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students & senior citizens and can purchased by seeing Mr. Fowler in the choir room or visiting the Roosevelt High School website. It's time to "Make a Change"!
