**Girls Basketball game update** The girls basketball game at SMS today 11/30 has been changed. 7th grade will start at 5:30, 8th grade will start at 6:30.

**REMINDER** Parent/Teacher Conferences are being held on Tuesday 11/23, no school for students on this day. Thanksgiving Break is Wednesday 11/24-Friday 11/26. School resumes Monday 11/29.

REMINDER!! Picture retake day at SMS is Wednesday, November 17th!

Come see the fall play! Stanton Drama Club presents Kastrophe Kate, Friday 11/5 @ 7:00pm and Saturday 11/6 @ 6:30pm in the SMS Auditeria. Tickets will be sold at the door. $3.00 for students and $5.00 for adults. Don't miss out!

Attention all 7th and 8th grade boys! Basketball tryouts begin Friday 10/29 from 3:00pm-4:30pm in the gym. ALL final forms must be complete along with a current sports physical in order to participate.

On Wednesday 10/27 and Wednesday 11/10 Detective Bowen will be visiting from the City of Kent Police Department along with SRO Poe in the afternoon. She will be speaking to all 6,7,8 grade students about internet/cyber safety. She will be sharing her presentation "Positive Presence on Social Media". The presentation will cover the potential dangers of social media and the internet. Including, ways to safely navigate the internet and also how to safely use the many social media platforms that are popular in today's society.
The presentation will be held in the SMS Auditeria. October 27th will be for girls and November 10th will be for boys. Students will wear masks and will be safely distanced. Please let us know if you have any questions and please follow up, with the topics covered, at home. Together we want to make sure our students are safely navigating the internet and using it appropriately.

6th grade student council is holding a winter gear drive. Donations (hats, gloves, scarfs, boots, coats, etc.) will be collected 10/25-10/29.The homeroom that collects the most donations will win a prize! Donating a pair of gloves or hat can really help others this winter season!

Kent Parks and Rec is offering youth basketball leagues for 4-6 grade boys and girls. Practices begin 10/25, the deadline to register is today! Register at the KPR office or online.
