We have been quite a few changes at your school! Here's a summary of the updates:
Retirements: Three staff members retired this past year, including the most recent retiree, Mrs. Stronz.
Grade and Classroom Changes:
Mr. Wollam: Moving to 4th grade but staying in his current room.
Ms. Louis and Ms. Archer: Switched classrooms to provide more space for 4th grade students in Ms. Louis' classroom.
New Staff:
Mrs. Bever: Previously the Title 1 teacher, now joining 3rd grade.
Mrs. Bower: New to 1st grade.
Mr. Kitay: New to 5th grade.
New teacher introductions:
Ryan Kity:
My name is Ryan Kitay and I am starting my second year of teaching. I graduated from Ursuline College with my Masters in Early Childhood Education in May of 2023. I am also currently the JV baseball Coach at Kenston High School. In my free time I love to watch Cleveland sports, listen to music, hike and play sports. I am extremely excited to continue my teaching career within the Kent City Schools district!
Taylor Bower:
Hello families! My name is Taylor Bower and I am thrilled to be joining the Holden team as a 1st grade teacher. I live locally with my husband and our three sons. In my spare time I love to go hiking. I am a big fan of reading, tacos, and the color green. I’m ecstatic to meet my new students!
Ryleigh Bever:
My name is Ryleigh Bever. I am a licensed early childhood education teacher with a special education minor from Kent State University. I have a life-long learning ambition to teacher and I am looking forward to implementing my skills in education and relationship building at Holden.
